University of Colorado, Denver Interprofessional Master of Science and Certificate Programs in Palliative Care

The University of Colorado Denver's Palliative Care Program is a collaborative project for the College of Nursing, School of Medicine, and the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences to expand education opportunities in palliative and end-of-life care to patients and families with serious and life-limiting illness. Biomedical and Allied Health Professional Tracks provide specialized content in addition to the core curriculum. Program courses are delivered in an interprofessional learning environment that mirrors the palliative care work setting. The program focuses on advancing clinical knowledge, using evidence in building palliative care practice and enhancing communication skills.  For more information, please visit the program's website.


University of Maryland, Baltimore Online Master of Science Degree and Post-Graduate Certificates in Palliative Care

The University of Maryland, Baltimore is now offering an interprofessional, completely online Master of Science degree in Palliative Care and five specialized post-graduate certificates in Palliative Care. All health care providers are invited to apply - physicians, social workers, nurses, advanced practice nurses, chaplains, pharmacists, physician assistants, administrators, therapists, volunteers, personal care providers, and more! ASHP Foundation

Optimal management of chronic pain is a critical issue in healthcare. In this five-month, ACPE-accredited educational experience, pharmacists are trained to develop and maintain comprehensive services for patients in pain and those with palliative care needs. Trainees will receive intensive distance and experiential training that prepares them to lead the way to effective and safe pain management. The program is a tiered educational initiative consisting of a combination of distance education, including self-study and interactive web-based presentations with discussion and onsite experiential training.  For more information, please visit the program's website.
